CARITAS @ GSUMC Thanksgiving Week
CARITAS (Congregations Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter) is your opportunity to share hope with another. Good Shepherd is hosting CARITAS Family Focus Thanksgiving Week (Saturday, November 22 - Saturday, November 29). We are housing approximately 28 guests comprised of families. Opportunities to serve in this important mission include: meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), cooking for Thanksgiving dinner, serving dinners throughout the week, laundry partnering, transportation to showers, overnight volunteers, and setup/cleanup. Hanging out, talking and visiting with our guests is also important throughout Thanksgiving day. Please prayerfully consider how you, and/or your family can assist in making this holiday more comfortable for those without a home. Annual Christmas Dinner and Program
December 14, 2008 ~ Doors open at 5:15 p.m., dinner served at 5:30 p.m. and program to follow.
The Christmas Program and Dinner is one of our favorite Good Shepherd traditions. The evening enables us to gather as a community to enjoy fellowship, wonderful food and the musical and acting gifts of many of our children. This year, the children will perform The Tale of the Drowsy Shepherd. Tickets are $5 per individual or $20 per family.

Part-time Nursery Attendant Position
Good Shepherd UMC in Richmond is seeking a part-time Nursery Attendant who loves young children and will provide consistency to this part of our children's ministry. The Nursery Attendant is responsible for the care of 1 to 25 children in the nursery who are under 2 years-old on Sundays from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. More hours may be available during events at the church.
