Belonging
Good Shepherd seeks to be a community of mutual care-giving. Our Belonging ministry nurtures and cares for our growing church family and friends. We are all encouraged to develop and faithfully use the spiritual gift of compassionate service to those experiencing various periods of life transitions.
The Ways We Care
Stephen Ministers
are equipped lay persons who provide distinctively Christian one-on-one care to those in our congregation facing stressful life situations. Stephen Ministers work together with the pastor(s) to multiply our Christian care-giving. Volunteers are commissioned after completing 50 hours of training in important caring ministry skills. A gift of compassion and a listening ear are needed here. Confidentiality is a must. is the Stephen Minister leader. Contact any pastoral leader to connect with a Stephen Minister.
Since February 2005, Good Shepherd has given more than 200 prayer shawls to friends, family and members. The need is tremendous and we need your help. If you knit and/or crochet, please consider making a shawl. If you do not know how to knit or crochet, we would love to teach you.You can also help buy purchasing yarn. Please continue to pray for the ministry, especially for those making the shawls and for those who receive them. This ministry is for people of all ages. If you are interested in making a shawl but cannot meet, let us know. For more information, please contact .
Providing care to those in need is very important to all of us at Good Shepherd. During times of surgery, illness, birth, death, birthdays, anniversaries we express our care through prayers, cards, meals and prayer shawls. If you would like to know more about our
