Prayer Shawl Ministry

Since February 2005, Good Shepherd has given 140 prayer shawls to friends, family and members. The need is tremendous and we need your help. If you knit and/or crochet, please consider making a shawl. If you do not know how to knit or crochet, we would love to teach you.You can also help buy purchasing yarn. Each shawl takes three skeins of yarn. Our preferred yarn is machine washable and dryable Lion Brand Homespun. It is available at Ben Franklin, Michael’s and JoAnn’s. Average price per skein is $4.99 or $3.99 on sale. It is easy to mix and match colors so if you can purchase only one skein, we can use it. Yarn can be placed in baskets in the Celebration Center. Financial donations are welcomed. Mark donations “Prayer Shawl Ministry” and place in the offering or send to the church office. Please continue to pray for the ministry, especially for those making the shawls and for those who receive them.

This ministry is for people of all ages. If you are interested in making a shawl but cannot meet, let us know. For more information, please contact .
