Good Shepherd United Methodist Church

Where Lives are Transformed by Grace

Living

Living is the mission and outreach sphere of the church. Good Shepherd has outreach ministries that support local, national and global outreach programs through volunteer participation, in-kind contributions and financial assistance. These ministries require planners as well as participants.

Longan Elementary partnership

Donate school supplies for the students and teachers at Longan Elementary in July and August. The school is located in our church's neighborhood. After school tutoring is also offered throughout the school year.

CARITAS

As part of Congregations Around Richmond Involved to Assure Shelter (CARITAS), we host families and / or singles who are homeless for a week. Set up, fix meals, drive our guests to the YMCA for showers or to the laundromat, wash and fold towels, or just be there as a loving presence. Be one of the 150 to 200 people needed to make this ministry a success or join the leadership team to plan and organize. Sign up sheets are in Wistar Hall in the weeks prior.
