Reaching
Good Shepherd is a community church that reaches out to the needs of the entire community. It has been stated that the first sermon which is preached on Sunday mornings is not by the minister, but by the congregation. Visitors and newcomers are greeted by the congregation, by their smiles, their kind welcoming words and their outreached hands. These gestures serve to embrace and engage people into the spirit and services of our faith community.

Community Outreach
This team helps develop and coordinate plans to increase Good Shepherd’s awareness in the community. It includes participation in community events such as “Glen Allen Days”, making the church property and facilities visitor friendly, and contacting new residents.
Nametag Ministry
Nametags help our members get to know one another and new members feel a part of our fellowship. If you need a nametag, contact or stop by the Welcome Desk in Wistar Hall as you enter the church.
Bread Ministry
Volunteers bake mini loaves of their choice of bread to be presented to first time visitors.
Hospitality Hour Ministry
Individuals or families prepare coffee and light refreshments on Sunday mornings. Hospitality Hour begins at 9:15 a.m. and ends at 10:45 a.m.
Pumpkin Palooza
Our annual Fall community outreach event featuring music, games, prizes, pumpkin patch and costume contest.
